New Friends
Since I began boarding, I have met some really nice people and their wonderful canines. Here are some of our new friends.
We had the privilege of caring for Sammy for about a day and a half while his family was in Holiday World. Sammy was very much at home and had a great time. Madeleine is her mother's partner here at Chihuahua Express. She is just as into the dogs as I am. Rebecca and Madeleine had a great time taking care of Sammy. Sammy and his family were all very sweet and a pleasure to meet.
Stella is a beautiful and sweet Chihuahua that recently spent four days with us while her family was away. She really enjoyed playing with our girls and our puppies. She especially bonded with our daughter Madeleine. Thank you Kim and Mike for allowing us to care for your baby.
Boarding
I know from first-hand experience, taking a trip, even if just for a few days, can be a little unnerving when you have animal companions to make arrangements for. You feel like you are leaving your children behind and you worry about their well-being. Chihuahuas and other small breeds in particular can be a concern, as they are more fragile than a larger breed. They may not eat well because they are nervous and depressed in a cold and uncaring environment in which they are being boarded, not knowing if they will see their loved ones again. As anyone who has a Chihuahua knows, they cannot afford to miss a meal like larger dogs can. I have added boarding to my services offered to those who share their lives with Chihuahuas and other small dogs, to help alleviate some of the stress that often goes along with taking a "relaxing vacation".
You may place your baby in my care during your trip with the faith and confidence that while in my home, your dog will be loved and cared for by my family in a comfortable home environment just as our own Chihuahuas are. They will be able to play with my children and Chihuahuas. Weather permitting, they will get to play outside each day. Your four-legged friend will be cared for in the manner in which you specify.
When you leave your furry family member in my care, you may bring any items of comfort from home that will help make your loved one feel at ease. These items may include a carrier, blankets, toys, food/water dish, and treats. You will need to bring enough food for your baby to last throughout his stay so that his stomach does not become upset by eating a different food. Our Chihuahuas maintain up-to-date shots at all times. I ask for the health of our Chihuahuas and yours, that yours be up-to-date as well before boarding. I only board for one client at a time, so that your dog is not exposed to other dogs besides mine. In this way, you know exactly who your dog has had contact with. In addition to filling out a form with basic information about your dog and contact information, you will also be asked to sign a “permission to treat” form in the event that your dog needs veterinarian support while in my care. I will not ask for your address. NEVER give anyone your address and tell them you are going on vacation. If you prefer, I will stay in contact with you throughout your vacation to assure you that all is well.
I only charge $10 per day. Our boarding fees go to my children and helps them to learn how to budget their money between what they have to spend, what they need, and what they want. If you are interested in learning more about boarding your baby with us, simply contact me and I will answer your questions and try to make you feel at ease. We can arrange to meet prior to boarding so that you can meet me and see where your loved one will be staying. Your dog is welcomed to come as well. This will give him the opportunity to get acquainted with us and our home.
